Can replacement of a catalytic converter cause damage to O2 sensor?

We took out Jeep Grand Cherokee in to the dealer becasue we got a recall notice reagrding the catalytic converter. We pciked it up Monday afternoon after they finished replacing the catalytic converter and on the way home the car was losing power and kind of surging. We took it back in to the dealer and they called today and said it was a bad O2 sensor, but this problem had nothing to do with the catalytic converter they replaced. Is it likely they damaged the O2 sensor when they replaced the cataltic converter or is it just a coincidence that we had this problem right after they worked on our car??|||They damaged the sensor. It would not just go coincidentally like that.

I bet they didn't route the wire correctly to it and it melted on the exhaust.

If you had eliminiated the cat, or put a high flow one on, this will raise the exhaust temps and burn out the O2 sensor over time.

Since you are dealing in stock parts, the fault lies with the dealer on this one.. That sucks.. This is why I do my own work..

I was able to get a car lift for $1300 and now there isn't a thing I can't do!!!!!
