Could a catalytic converter cause your car to overheat?

My car overheated and it blew my engine... Could a bad catalytic converter cause the car to overheat and blow an engine?Could a catalytic converter cause your car to overheat?
very unlikely. did you have any antifreeze in your radiator?Could a catalytic converter cause your car to overheat?
A catalytic converter (CC) has a chance to make overheat the engine. A worn cc will block the exhaust gas, by not moving out hot gas, the heat will be take place where there is an air to blow the heat which is engine block. Even the engine use coolant, the coolant has it's capability to absorb and release the heat. But, a worn cc will shown by deep sound of blocking way of gas, and hard to accelerate. Do you experience those? Please check the coolant changing time, coolant level, work of fan, and heat of the radiator. If the gauge show overheat but radiator ply is cold, a jam thermostat is happening. If the gauge is overheat and the ply is hot but coolant reservoir is same as cold, a worn of radiator cap is happening. Other then those two, please check the coolant and fan. If fan not work, replace it after the wire and fuse being check and those is fine. If the fan not work but work after a bit hit, a dirt is blocking the fan blade to turn, clean it with penetrant.Could a catalytic converter cause your car to overheat?
not really the cat is full of plaitum and they are beads and are used to filter the exhaust.

they will weld together not letting the exhaust flow properly.

and they will get cherry red when this happens but to blow a engine not likely.

it is possible that you spun a Bering because of lack of oil and it may have even threw the piston .

you would have to ask the mechanic what happened to the engine.
