Is it a big deal if my catalytic converter sensor is disrupted?

my friend is a mechanic and check it out on the computer and it says it's the catalytic converter sensor is disrupted. he told me it's no big deal. true? i personally just don't like having the check engine light on. should i get it fixed and how much will it cost?Is it a big deal if my catalytic converter sensor is disrupted?
no, just when you go for the clean air testIs it a big deal if my catalytic converter sensor is disrupted?
The oxygen sensor error code he read out of your computer doesn't necessarily mean that oxygen sensor is bad, and can mean that the engine's running too rich or lean or the catalytic converter isn't funtioning like the computer knows it should. There's a risk of damaging your expensive catalytic converter in some cases, so if you want to know the real problem, get a diagnosis from your car dealer even if it costs you a labor hour to get the repair quote. Then you'll know how expensive it will be to fix and you might even fix it yourself once the problem has been properly diagnosed by the dealer.

NO.

That = bad gas mileage.

Really get rid of it! You don't need it unless you have more than two kids!
