Catalytic Converter?

I own a 1991 Acura Legend and need to replace the catalytic converter. Would a novice be able to do this or should I have a professional do it? And if so How much would it run?|||It's just another piece of exhaust. There aren't any special installation instruction. If you're not comfortable doing it take it to a exhaust shop. Figure a couple hundred dollars at least depending on how much the convertor is and if you need to replace the rest of the exhaust with it.|||My bro had a 91 Integra. He had a professional do it.

Sooo...... i'd suggest that. =)|||have a pro do it and it cast around $300.00|||If your not comfortable about doing that, then is reccomended to let the pros handle it. Good luck.|||Crawl under and see if your converter has bolted adapter on each end, if so it would be easy for you to replace... otherwise , if its welded, have a pro do it|||Can be don at home but you will need the correct tools and may find it hard to get studs bolts or nut free depending on where you live lose. If you take it to a shop you should ask for the old cat if they don't charge for a core then take it to a scrap metal yard they pay good for these.|||It's dirty hard work. I'd just take it in and have it done. good luck.|||actually a pros job. A factory made one from your car maker is outrageously costly. They do sell over the market versions which are much cheaper. Also, places like Midas sued to sell cheapo verios jkust to make a pass in inspection.
